Compete on the road to the Pokemon TCG World Championships!

Pokémon TCG League Cup tournaments are smaller events that give players an opportunity to earn Championship Points and practice their skills for larger competitions

The Pokémon TCG League Cup events do not require an invitation or qualification. All players who have Trainer Club accounts and are in good standing with the Play! Pokémon rules are welcome to participate. Players need to bring their own 60-card deck, coin and damage counters.

Prizes are awarded to the top players in each of three age divisions (Junior, Senior, and Masters).

All players should be familiar with the PoP Floor rules and penalty guidelines.

Please make sure you're ready with a legal deck by reviewing the Tournament Formats document here.

On-site registration opens at 9:00 am and closes at 9:45 am. Anyone arriving after 9:45 am may receive a loss for the first round.

Entry Fee: $15.00

Playoff Rounds Format: Best 2 of 3

The swiss rounds will be held at the Cedar Grove Library (behind Time Warp Comics & Games). Players must to purchase a ticket at Time Warp Comics & Games prior to registration at the library.

Held one week before each new Magic card set goes on sale, Prereleases provide a way to play in a large-scale event in a low-stress environment. You get to play with the cards before you can buy them, special promotional cards are given out to attendees and the top players can win even more cards. So have fun!

Prereleases are Limited events, meaning you build your 40-card (minimum) deck from the product that you get after paying your entry fee. Each player will receive an Ixalan prerelease pack to build their deck from.

Prereleases are sanctioned by the WPN, which is the governing body for all Magic tournaments - from the smallest local events up to the high-level Pro Tour. Playing in a sanctioned event means your results are recorded and begin to give you a player rating among the thousands of Magic players worldwide. If you don't have a WPN number yet, we can set you up. For many players, prereleases are a fun and easy way to play in their first sanctioned events.

Entry Fee: $28.00.

Format: Sealed Deck

We will be hosting 3 prerelease events on Saturday (1 midnight (friday), 1 morning and 1 evening) and 2 prerelease events on Sunday (1 noon and 1 early evening).

This event will be a 4 round swiss tournament with prizes for finishing records of 4-0, 3-0-1, and 3-1.

This event will be a 4 round tournament with prizing based upon match win record.

Crimson Invasion Prerelease
Saturday October 21st, 2017 - 10:15 am

The Pokemon TCG: Crimson Invasion Prerelease tournament allows players to receive and play with cards from the upcoming Sun & Moon Crimson Invasion expansion prior to the official release date of the set!

Participation prizes are awarded to all finishers in each of three age divisions (Juniors, Seniors, and Masters).

Each participant will receive a Sun & Moon Crimson Invasion Prerelease Pack with which they will use to build a 40 card deck (including energy cards which we provide). Each Prerelease Pack contains 4 Sun & Moon Crimson Invasion booster packs and 1 evolution pack. Each evolution pack contains 22 key cards from current and prior sets, plus 1 of 4 Prerelease promo cards. Participants will then use the deck they build to compete against other trainers in the tournament. These cards are yours to keep after the tournament.

Entry Fee: $30.00

  • Registration opens at 9:00am and closes at 10:00am. The pre-release event will start at 10:15am.
  • The Prerelease tournament will be 3 rounds of age-modified swiss pairings.
  • Bring your POP ID, if you have one. If you don't have a POP ID, one will be given to you at the event.
  • See the Pokemon Tournament Rules for more information about what to bring to an event.
  • Make sure you arrive on time. If you are late for registration, you will recieve a loss for the 1st round of the event. Players arriving after the start of the second round will not be eligible to participate in the prerelease.
  • To participate in the event, you must be a player in good standing and abide by the Tournament Rules.
  • More information including registration and start times.

Players who actively participate (no scooping) in all 3 rounds in the event will receive 3 additional booster packs of Sun & Moon Burning Shadows.

SIDE EVENTS

After the prerelease we will begin a series of booster draft tournaments. Each draft a player participates in they will receive a Sun & Moon Crimson Invasion Prerelease pack to use in the draft. These events are open to all players regardless of whether or not they participated in any of the earlier events. This is a great way to get more Pokemon TCG: Sun & Moon Crimson Invasion cards before they are released. Each draft tournament will be limited to 8 players when possible, with a new draft tournament starting as soon as 8 players have registered.

Entry Fee: $20

Prizes: In each draft tournament, 1st place receives 5 booster packs of Sun & Moon Crimson Invasion and 2nd place receives 3 booster packs.

League Challenge
Saturday December 9th, 2017 - 11:00 am
League Challenge tournaments are designed to provide players with small, entry-level events on a local scale. These events are a great way to get your feet wet in the world of Premier Events.

In the Pokemon Trading Card Game League Challenge tournaments, players in each of the three PoP-recognized age divisions can work toward earning Championship Points, potentially earning an invitation to the World Championships!

Registration 10:00am to10:45 am.

Entry Fee: $10.00

Format:

The tournament is run using the Standard Constructed format and Age-Modified Swiss pairings. See the Pokemon Tournament Rules for information about the format and Swiss. The number of Swiss rounds to be run will depend on total attendance at the event. Each round of Swiss is a single-game match of 30 minutes plus 3 turns. League Challenge tournaments do not include a Single-Elimination portion; placement in the event is determined by final Swiss standings.

Prizes:
In addition to the League Challenge promo card and championship points, the Top players in each age group will also receive gift certificate prizes (amount dependent on attendance). Age Divisions with less than 8 players will be combined for determining prizes.
